Where We Come From

Keen Home Design grew out of a family workshop in Gaziantep, Turkey — one of the oldest weaving regions in the world, where rugs have been hand-knotted, dyed, and traded along Silk Road routes for over a thousand years. We are a family-run business with weaving in our roots and a warehouse in Batavia, Illinois, shipping to homes across the United States.

Heritage Persian Patterns, Reimagined

Our designs are drawn from the great rug traditions of the Near East — Heriz medallions and Tabriz florals from Iran, Oushak palettes from Anatolia, Kazak tribal geometry from the Caucasus, Berber diamond chains from Morocco. These motifs have stood for centuries because they belong on a floor: balanced, repeatable, made to be lived on. We honor that vocabulary, then translate it into rugs built for the way real homes work today.

Modern Washable Construction

Every rug we make is engineered to be machine washable, low-pile, and built to last. No professional cleaning. No turning the rug at the cleaners every six months. No anxious moments when the wine glass tips or the dog tracks mud across the living room. You roll it up, fit it in a standard washer, tumble dry low, lay it back down. That single design choice changes how a rug fits into a busy household — and it is at the center of everything we do.

Built for Pets, Kids, and Real Life

Low-pile flatweave construction means no fiber-pull from cat claws or dog paws, no choking hazard for crawling babies, no shedding under furniture, and no bunched edges in doorways. Our rugs lay flat under sofas, dining tables, and rolling office chairs without rippling. They handle traffic from boots, bare feet, and four-legged guests without losing color or shape.

Sustainability Through Longevity

The most sustainable rug is one you do not have to replace. Our fibers are UV-stable, mold-resistant, and stain-resistant, so your rug stays in your home for years instead of being landfilled after a single bad spill. Washable construction also means fewer harsh cleaning chemicals over its lifetime. Built well, kept clean, kept in service.

The Team Behind the Brand

We are a small US team operating out of a warehouse in Batavia, Illinois, supported by our manufacturing partners in Gaziantep. Every order ships from our Illinois facility — we keep stock close to our customers, not on a slow boat from overseas. Most orders arrive in 2 to 5 business days.
